| JAN - JUNE |
Most recent event will always be at the top
The Weather stayed good for the last Splash In of the year, winds were light and the flying was good.
One new model seen was a Brushless electric powered model called a H-Two-O it comes from www.britflight.co.uk and flew very well, very good on the water.
A model that has been missed at the Splash-Ins for a few years is the Balsa USA North Star. Peter Lamb gots his out of the attic after a few years in storage (like Peter really :-)), He reconds it is 21 years old now, nice to watch it skimming along the water on takeoff The usual LMFC models, Stans Ripmax trainer and my Wilga and Seamaster which was given a make over after it sprang a leak at the last Splash-In. George's ARC Cessena was seen doing some low level circles above the water, I had the camera ready for the big splash but unfortunatly George was too good ! We decided that 35mhz is still the best for floatflying, you cant do this with 2.4Ghz :-) The weather held dry for the DMFC annual flyin, model turnout was good but down on other years, but there were plenty of spectators and George said they used all the 350 cups for the tea, so they were well looked after. There was still a good variety of models, incl Scale & 3D helis, Petrol Aerobatic models, electrics and two Jets. Mathew Poots, David Nolan and Shane McGirr all put on some displays of Aerobatic's and 3D heli flying, to keep everyone entertained. Being a tradition the fly-In also has Microlight visitors, again down on other years but a total of six flew in. With the great Forecast we new Eskragh was going to be a good day, when we arrived there was already alot of people there and the lake was like a mirror. The North Down club always support the Eskragh Splash-Ins and had a good selection of models with them. Stanleys Ripmax Trainer on floats, watch that boat! Pic of My Seamaster robbed from DMFC site (sorry Richard) Eric decided to see if he could land on the BuoySplash In Eskragh Lough 10th October 2009
There were about 12 models not as many as previous events but still a good variety.

Wing span is 43" and looks much bigger in the picture.
